This is Sara from "Huey the Chameleon" a small story I'm writing for a 2 minute animation in my Animation Pre-Production class. She gets Huey as a present and is astonished that every time he changes colors he does a different dance! :D

Roger Color Thumbs and Value Comps

This was my favorite thumbnail that I pushed further. I think his pose and shape are the most effective and indicative of a guy who has a lot on his mind, but is willing to do what he has to. I'm still not 100% on the hat, but it's an easy fix if I decide to change it. The cape is made of paper and the censer smoke will change color throughout the game.

Thesis!

So I will explain the story in detail at a later date (I need to finish writing it), but the basic premise is a depressed guy goes inside of his own mind to battle his personal demons! Yaaay! Here are the thumbs for the main character Roger. He fights with a censer. I took a few pieces of art from some favorite games and paintings and studies the way they used curves vs straight lines as well as basic shapes. It was a super fun exercise. Another fun sketch time was taking one shape and drawing several things using the same shape. It forced me to really look for what is in the shape silhouette. Check it!
